Fort Lauderdale — Grand Cayman — Roatan — Belize City — Cozumel — Fort Lauderdale

At Fathom, we believe in travel's potential to improve lives. We believe the ocean connects us rather than divides us. In June, we are expanding the reach of the Fathom adventure and heading to the Western Caribbean this summer!

We are coming alongside the communities of the Grand Cayman, Roatan, Belize City and Cozumel and providing purposeful interactions with the people and the land. While on-shore excursions and activities are still being thoughtfully planned, the rest of your adventure has been detailed below.

BUILDING A STRONG COMMUNITY: On the Northern shore of the Honduran island of Roatain lies a beautiful, treasured area that locals call Sandy Bay. Because of many different factors, residents are experiencing serious impact to their environment, infrastructures, and overall community. Our travelers will spend the day with residents of Sandy Bay participating in relevant, needed activities such as: building a re-purposed tire playground, making eco-bricks for a fence to protect the Community Green Space, cleaning up fresh water creek area, and/or reforesting mangroves. We'll always make time for playing games with the local kids too!

Wednesday, August 1 - Belize City, Belize - Arrive: 7:00 AM // Depart: 6:00 PM

Choose Between Two!

HAVE A CLOSE ENCOUNTER OF A MONKEY KIND: Do you love wild animals? Are you passionate about protecting them and their habitat? Join us on a visit to the Belize Community Baboon Sanctuary, where you will experience the wonders of the Belizean rainforest firsthand and be inspired by the success story of the community that came together to protect the native Black Howler Monkeys. End your day by replanting trees to be transferred to the rainforest for many years of growth and good.

SEE A DIFFERENT SIDE OF BELIZE CITY: Travel deep into the heart of Belize City, for an inspirational day and the opportunity to help meet real needs. We’ll start by visiting the Belize YWCA, an association that empowers women and youth to lead change. Then, depending on the greatest needs on the day of our visit, we will aid in cooking lessons, revamp a coffee shop, garden in the farm or join the Y’s English as a Second Language program (one of the initiatives with a great track record of popularity and success).

Thursday, August 2 - Cozumel, Mexico - Arrive: 9:00 AM // Depart: 9:00 PM unnamed-3.png

Choose Between Two!

MEXICAN TRADITIONS PASSED DOWN FROM ELDERS: We’ll take your energy and desire to learn and meld it with the expertise and wisdom of village elders who are eager to teach us their way of life. In a park setting, we’ll learn culinary secrets, traditional dances and how to make authentic handicrafts. And our senior friends will have the joy of sharing their cultures and secrets, and learning a bit about you at the same time.

RESTORE AND EXPLORE A CORAL REEF: Under the sea, down there it’s better... and we can do our part to keep it that way. Lend your heart and hands to protect and preserve the beauty of the coral reef and the marine wildlife that depends on it. Literally get your feet wet as you come alongside local marine biologists to get a close look at and deep understanding of the mystical world of coral spawning and reproduction. Then dive in (figuratively speaking!) to assist in coral fragment planting. Later take a snorkel tour of local coral gardens and appreciate the magic that you’ve helped to preserve.

Friday, August 3 - At-Sea

  • Enjoy exclusive programming designed to enhance your experience with plenty of time to enjoy all that the Caribbean Princess has to offer.

Saturday, August 4 - Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

  • Arrive back in Florida for the end of our adventure
