One of the most beloved elements of Fathom’s Dominican Republic trips, impact activities give travelers the chance to collaborate with locals on important projects that contribute to the sustainable economic, educational and environmental health of the communities they visit. Your “Cultures of the Caribbean” tour includes two included impact activities.
Cultural Exchange Activities
While in Cuba, you and your fellow Fathom travelers will get the chance to get to known Cuba on a first-name basis by connecting directly with the people who live there. Your stop in Santiago de Cuba features many opportunities to interact with locals of every stripe—artists, musicians, historians, and everyday Cubans—while deepening your understanding of their country.
Aboard the ship, you’ll have the chance to participate in unique tailored programs and workshops to better prepare you for the impact you’ll make once you’re ashore. Payment for most onboard programming and events is covered in the price of your trip, while a small number of events require an additional fee.
Daily breakfast, lunch and dinner aboard the ship are included, and you’ll be treated to snacks and water during your impact activities. If you’re feeling adventurous, additional curated dining experiences will be available on board at an additional cost.
Your trip includes a seven night stay in a comfortable stateroom aboard the Adonia. All base-price rooms feature space for two people. A limited number of these rooms can accommodate up to four travelers
Your trip includes round-trip travel by ship between Miami and the port of Amber Cove in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Transportation between your home and the Port of Miami is not included.
